Fa‘aalualu Fetū Siva

Sacred Siva Samoa development for tama’ita’i

Fa‘aalualu Fetū Siva (formerly Siva Development) is a sacred development space for tama’ita’i to grow through Siva Samoa, guided by the Fetū, the ancestral stars, and inspired by fa‘aalualu, the jellyfish motif of the malu. Together, they represent direction, protection, fluidity, strength, and spiritual connection.

Rooted in culture and guided by lineage, we nurture tama’ita’i to move with confidence, purpose, and mana.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is inspired by motifs within the malu, the traditional Samoan tattoo of tama’ita’i, particularly fa‘aalualu and Fetū.

Fa‘aalualu (fa’a - way of, alualu - jellyfish) reflects softness, grace, and fluid beauty, while also holding strength, protection, and resilience. It reminds us that a tama’ita’i is never one thing. She can be gentle and fierce, elegant and strong, flowing and formidable.

fetu (stars) remind us that tama’ita’i carry ancestral guidance within them. Even in uncertainty, there is always a light to follow.

why Fa‘aalualu Fetū Siva

Fa‘aalualu Fetū Siva exists to provide a culturally grounded and safe space for tama’ita’i to move, grow, and develop through Siva Samoa. Over the past two years, we have held space for tama’ita’i of all ages, levels, and experiences, creating an environment where confidence, connection, and growth are nurtured.

Rooted in ancestral guidance and inspired by the sacred malu motifs, we honour softness and strength equally, supporting tama’ita’i to develop at their own pace with care, respect, and intention.

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

I’m Pule Siva
Mama of one, wife of 21 years and still very much in love with both life and what I do

Born and raised in Christchurch, spent six years living in Samoa, and have also called Auckland, Masterton and Porirua home. Somehow life brought me right back to Ōtautahi and this is where a lot of the magic happens now

I’ve been dancing on and off for over 20 years and teaching for more than 10. My classes move across commercial, urban, line dance, ratchet, sensual and Siva Samoa. Basically, if it involves movement and feeling something, I’m in

I trained at Excel School of Performing Arts majoring in dance and minoring in singing, and I also hold a Bachelor of Arts from the OG EFKS Mapusaga Sydenham

Right NOW, I’m a tutor at Summer Studios, working alongside Summer Lloyd, and have been part of bringing big stage showcases to life at places like the Aurora Centre, McCombs Performing Arts Centre and the Christchurch Town Hall. I’m also the creative director behind Fa’aalualu Fetu Siva, formerly known as Siva Development

But beyond all of that, what really matters to me is people

I’m big on creating spaces that feel safe, judgment free and real. Spaces where you don’t have to come in already confident or experienced. You can just come as you are, awkward, nervous, excited, unsure… all of it is welcome

My Siva classes especially have been filled with tama’ita’i from all walks of life. Different ages, different backgrounds, different levels. The common thing is always the same: wanting to reconnect, to feel something, to belong without feeling intimidated

I teach with compassion over correction, connection over perfection, and I will always choose people over performance

Truthfully, I’m just someone who once needed a space like this and decided to create it

So if you’ve ever taken a class with me, I hope you felt seen
And if you haven’t yet, this is me saying you’re more than welcome to step in

Come move with me
